Dear parents & guardians, Dunne Childcare is closed. I’d like to thank everyone who supported the school. Art and science, when introduced at a young age, allows children to ask questions, formulate a hypothesis and can follow through with a task. And all through play!

When assessing a home daycare, here are a few things to look for:

  • Attendance log
  • Medicines locked away and signed in everyday
  • Registered RECE – they know what they’re doing!
  • Corners of furniture are covered
  • Menus – 3–6 months of recipes
  • Outlets are covered
  • No electrical cords showing
  • Activity book with science, creative arts, physical health, math, music…
  • Nipissing Screening every three months
  • Outside time – 1 hour in the morning, 1 hour in the afternoon
  • Indoor temperatures are comfortable and consistent
  • Children under 2 years sleep in an approved crib
  • NO drowning risks – no splash pools, ponds, puddles, creek… a water table only

Do your research – there are some great home daycares out there.
