We will do our utmost to maintain the rules and regulations set out by the Government of Canada & the local Health Department.
- “All children attending child care, staff and child care providers, must be screened each day before entering the child care setting.”
- At the current time admittance into the centre is prohibited when dropping off or picking up your child. In future, should this change, parents will be notified.
- Any visitor requiring access to the building will be required to provide contact information and complete a simple questionnaire and have their temperature recorded.
- All home daycare/child care centres must maintain daily records of screening results.
- Toys are disinfected daily or as needed.
Health, Comfort and Safety
Please inform us of any changes to your situation including phone numbers, change of address and alternative pick up person.
In order to meet your child’s needs, please let us know of any serious family illness, death, separation, or divorce.
If Your Child Is Sick
Snork, sneeze and phlegm. Please, if your child is sick make alternate arrangements for their care. If your child becomes ill, we will phone you to pick up your child in order to prevent the spread of germs.
Please ensure your child comes to school without the aids of fever reducers. This will help prevent the spread of germs.
If your little one is sent home, they are required to stay home for 24 hours as per government guidelines. Feel better, have some soup and a snuggle.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIRE IMMEDIATE PICK UP OF YOUR CHILD
1. Any fevers of 100+
2.Diarrhea –2nd time it occurs
3. Vomiting (first time)
4. All contagious illnesses (pink eye/ strep)they may come back 24 hours after medication has been administered and they can fully participate in the program
Teachers will wash their hands before and after serving foods, changing diapers/washroom breaks.
Toys from Home
We know they love them and we love that they do, please have a small “friend” for your child to cuddle with- (something washable.).
Clothing
Fashion. It’s all the rage. Here are the highlights for the year
- Indoors – three pairs of underwear, three pairs of socks, two spare pants, and shirt.
- Summer – sun hat, sunscreen, bathing suit, towel, sandals that cover the toes and heels. No flip-flops or Crocs.
- Winter – snowsuit with hood, three pairs of mitts, boots,(water proof please), hat(no strings please) neck warmer (no scarves please).
- Spring / Fall – rubber boots, jacket, mud pants, mittens and hat
Medications
All medications must be signed in on the medication form every day when in use. Included are the dosage, times to be given, name of drug and prescription number. Medication must be labeled with your child’s name on it and in the original container.
EpiPens, diaper creams, sunscreens may be signed in only once. EpiPens are carried by the teacher and are kept out of reach of children.
Accident Reports
Accidents happen. We take precautions to ensure your child’s safety; so please expect the normal amount of scratches and bruises. An accident report will be filled out when needed. The report will be signed by both the teacher and parent and kept on file.
If your child has hurt themselves at home, please inform us so we can keep an eye on them during the day. In the event of a serious accident, your child will be transported to the hospital by ambulance and you will be notified immediately.
Toilet Training And Diapering
How exciting! Really it is. It’s a whole new “movement” in your child’s development.We ask that you provide all pull-ups with side tabs, creams and wipes for your child. When training, it is imperative your child have extra clothing, clothes that are soiled will be sent home in a plastic bag for washing.
Clothing that allows for your child to be independent during the training process is imperative.
